Barcelona Cava  Winery Visit

Although not originally from Barcelona, the area has still the some of the most reputated cava bodegas in Spain. Famous names such as Cordoniou or Freixenet are all based in the cava town St. Sadurni, west of Barcelona. Therefore you will not waste time in transportation in this bodega crawl, and you will have a chance to buy a few for a tipple back in the hotel room. A full lunch is also included. 

Barcelona Cava Region

The European commission stated that cava would have the label of "méthode champegnoise" as opposed to champagne even though it is produced the same way. Barcelona cava region hosts Cordoníu whose production dates back from 1551. It also produces excellent white wine and very good red.
